Data Filtering  Rework

Screenshot of PMTk – the Process Mining Toolkit

Screenshot shows the Rework Filter dialog with the activity set to Create Purchase Order Item, the minimum occurrences set to 2, and the filtering method set to Positive: keep matching cases. Only cases in which this activity appears at least twice will be retained.

The Rework Filter allows you to isolate cases in which a specific activity was repeated more than expected, making it useful for identifying process instances where rework or repeated handling occurred.

Activity

The activity to check for repeated occurrences.

Minimum Occurrences

The minimum number of times the selected activity must appear within a case for that case to match. For example, setting this to 2 will match only cases where the activity occurred at least twice.

Filtering Method

Controls how matching cases are treated:

  • Positive: keep matching cases: Retains only cases matching the minimum occurrences criteria.
  • Negative: remove matching cases: Removes all cases matching the minimum occurrences criteria.

On applying the filter, a corresponding entry is appended to the Filter Chain. Existing filters can be reviewed, reordered, and removed in the Filter Chain.
