Screenshot shows the Conformance Checking Summary dashboard aligned against a previously created BPMN model. The upper section displays Case-Based Compliance as both a bar chart and a monthly temporal chart. The lower section shows Activity Compliance for each activity, broken down into compliant, unexpected, and missing event counts.
The Summary dashboard provides a high-level overview of how compliant the event log is with respect to the selected BPMN model, presented through two complementary charts: Case-Based / Event-Based Compliance and Activity Compliance. PMTk uses Alignments to calculate compliance (a complex technique that finds the optimal path between each observed case and the model, identifying where the log and the model deviate from one another.).
A BPMN model must be available in the workspace before conformance checking can be performed. If none has been created yet, you will be prompted to select or create one via the BPMN Model component.
Alignments are computed incrementally: PMTk processes 20 variants at a time in descending order of frequency, approximating the compliance of remaining variants after each batch. A maximum of 1,000 variants are fully calculated, all remaining variants are approximated. Progress is shown in the model control bar at the top, which also displays the currently selected model and the number of alignments completed. Calculation can be paused and resumed at any time using Stop/ Continue. While calculation is still in progress, a warning icon appears on the affected charts as a reminder that the displayed figures are based on partial results.
The upper half of the dashboard displays overall compliance figures, switchable between Case and Event level using the toggle in the toolbar.
The configuration panel provides the following options.
| Setting | Description | Values |
|---|---|---|
| Case Attribution | Determines at which point in time a case's compliance is recorded in the temporal chart. |

The lower half of the dashboard displays a stacked horizontal bar chart showing compliance at the activity level. For each activity in the model, three categories are shown:
| Alignment | Description |
|---|---|
| Compliant | Occurrences of the activity that were expected by the model and present in the log. |
| Unexpected | Occurrences of the activity that appeared in the log but were not expected by the model at that point. |
| Missing | Occurrences of the activity that were expected by the model but absent from the log. |
Each bar is annotated with absolute counts and their percentage of total events, making it straightforward to identify which activities are the primary sources of non-compliance.
